How to Measure Your Waist
- • Find your natural waistline - it's the narrowest part of your waist, typically just above your belly button
- • Stand up straight and wrap a measuring tape around your waist at this point
- • Keep the tape snug but not tight, and make sure it's parallel to the ground
- • Breathe normally and measure
- • Don't suck in your stomach - you want your true measurement
Tip
For the most accurate measurement, measure directly against your skin, not over clothes.

How to Measure Your Inseam
- • Put on a pair of well-fitting pants
- • Stand up straight with your feet about 6 inches apart
- • Measure from the crotch seam (where the legs of the pants meet) straight down to where you want your pants to end
- • For a traditional full-length fit, measure to the top of your shoe
Tip
It's easier to measure your inseam while wearing shoes you typically wear with dress pants.
